Pulled a depredation tag in early August and was able to fill it with my boy. Got her back to the pickup and he looks at me and says "that was a great night dad"

Sure makes a guy feel a certain kind of way.

9/7/24 South Carolina. Had a bachelor group of 3 come out in a soy bean field. This fella got broadside at 195 yds. 25-06 with a 115 Berger VLD . Typical coastal plain deer.

That is a happy smile. Great to take kids hunting. Makes a doe the biggest trophy ever

When does SC season open? Nice way to start the WT seasons off, other than the heat/humidity down there.

Rifle starts Sept 1st in the game zone I hunt. 95 degrees and 100% humidity does suck. Our most important piece of gear is a Thermacell. We had a couple of cooler days, and I took advantage.
