That is a different bill than the draw. The draw bill is H0587 I think. If it passes, the draw wont happen until 2026 at the earliest.
Well aware but it will have a effect when the nr licenses will be available for sale which will not be December if this bill is passed

The only way anyone can buy a tag for a NR DAV is if that individual already has submitted the required documentation to the state of Idaho. You make it sound like anyone can just walk to and buy their buddy a DAV tag, when that is certainly not the case.

Figured it was obvious that the paperwork would have been submitted, the only way to purchase the tag is to have that done lol, and YES, then anyone can go in and buy the tag...

Nah man there's something fishy going on with that system. I had a pretty good number and was hopeful. Of the first 300 out of the queue, the 300 DAV elk tags were gone. Somebody is buying tags. There is NO WAY the first 300 were all DAV, and I refuse to believe that many DAV NR are going to Idaho to walk into a vendor. Not a chance in hell.

I understand there are sales across the state. However, that would imply that HUNDREDS of DAV non-residents are traveling there to buy. It would also imply they were at the very start of the lines and didn't have wait times. Or were the first ones on the phone. But when I tried there phone out of curiosity I was over 3,000 in line. I think it's awesome that Idaho has DAV tags. Or that the first 300 in the queue were all DAV elk hunters. Idk man I'm just not buying it. Also, the 500 DAV deer tags went at about 4,000 something. So 300/300 elk tags, 500/4000 for deer. It just dont add up is all im saying.

Unfortunately what you are missing here is that locals are purchasing 3,4,5 tags at a time for friends and family in hundreds of locations in Idaho. Ask me how I know this…by first hand knowledge of watching this happen for 3 years in a row:
Then you have guys paying guys that fly in to buy, again purchasing multiple tags on top of phone sales and F&G Sales etc.

The only way to solve this in the current system is to go to a process where only you can buy a tag for yourself in person.

Then online will have a much better shot. Locals won’t have the advantage and those that wish to spend the money to travel have an advantage for those willing to spend the coin.
Btw there is a new thread for the 2024 draw

I don't believe this is true. There are a lot of people travelling to buy tags, and the online system has too many problems aside from the in-person sales.

Oh it’s not going to solve it. But it will exclude the 2+ tag buying problem.
