After a long time dreaming about doing a sheep hunt for my 40th birthday, I just mailed off my deposit for a 2024 Dall hunt in Alaska!! I think my facial expression says it all! Now the long wait and journey of preparing begins!
Jake Jefferson. He’s not taking hunters in 22 or 23 due to sheep numbers in his area but feels by 2024, some of those younger sheep he saw this year will be good to go. We hit it off talking and I felt comfortable trusting him.Awesome! Who did you decide to hunt with?
Haha congrats to you too! I wanted to do the Brooks in AK but it was above my budget unfortunately.Nice- I did the same a year ago for a 2023 hunt (Brooks range); my birthday is a little (OK a lot!) later than yours though
I can’t wait for all the prep! Wheels are already in motion for certain things!Awesome to hear and congratulations. I wish I could have done a it at 40 because I would surely have done a second. My one and only Dall hunt was in 2020 at age 51. The journey and prep will be a lot of fun. Best of luck.

Awesome story!!2017 Alaska Sheep/Griz hunt with Jeremy and BRWNBR
Since I am a non-resident of the great state of Alaska, I was forced to find a guide and get him, or her, to agree to take me on a dall sheep and bear odyssey. On another forum, I had become acquainted with the work of Mr. Jake Jefferson, and endeavored to gain his services for said hunt...www.rokslide.com
In fact, I do.

I’m already worried about that. Would love to think this won’t be my only sheep hunt but it likely will be. I’ll likely go back at some point for Mtn Goat and Sitka deer. At least I’m doing the Dall young enough that another sheep isn’t a complete pipe dream. If my wife ever told me she was ok with a move to AK, I’d be gone so fast your head would spin!!Awesome news I hunted Dall sheep in 2018 wish I was 40. I met Jake on a hunt in Kodiak great guy. You will love it.but you never leave ak. It will cost you alot of $ in the future. But worth every penny imo.
