I'm finally getting packed up for our first trip of the fall. I had a bunch of other things going on this year so we're doing very little hunting compared to normal.

My son was lucky enough to draw a 3rd season deer tag through the returned tag lottery. Then just a few weeks ago, my brother picked one up through the reissue process so we will be looking for two bucks.

Dylan and I plan to leave Wednesday night for the hunt, which starts on Saturday.

We are loading up our clothes and other gear today.

Arrived at camp and got everything set up for the week. Then more snow and fog rolled in. After a while it cleared up enough that we could get a little scouting in.

No luck for Dylan or my brother this morning. We had more snow and fog which made glassing tough. It also seems like the deer haven't migrated in fully so things should keep getting better as the season goes on.

Our buddy was able to locate the buck he was after and killed him this morning. Really cool, and heavy.
