Very nice buck! Is that a RSS 223 shooting 77gr TMKs? Our shot placement looks very close, I’d like to compare notes as I was using a 6x45 shooting 87gr vmax. Was yours quartering? How far did he make it? Good blood trail? Internal damage? My self control ran out this morning
Almost shot a big one in the fog this morning but I got stuck in the open and I had no shot… one more step would have got him killed
He was 70ish yds and I would have had to shoot off hand, so I was waiting for him to expose his body
Started out rough with people, and now I’m in a pickle that can only be solved by walking a lot
Good on ya!, my self control would have gone by the wayside with that buck as well. Awesome buck congratsMy self control ran out this morning

I would just like to find a B&C quality buck that wasn’t living by house and lived in the spots I hunt. That’s rad I’m sure you were pumped when you saw himThanks everyone. Truly lucky that I ran into him. Guessing he will go in the 130’s. I’m hoping he makes 135 so I can have my name in B&C. That would be pretty sweet, obviously not necessary.
How many days are left in the season? My self control ran out this morning

Yep, 77gr tmk, that is the exit in the pic, he was quartered to at 326yds, when I shot, I saw the impact right in the center of the shoulder, racked again and he was instantly doing the drunk walk and tipped over. For sure less than 10 seconds, and there was a good amount of blood from impact to where he died, which was maybe 10ydsVery nice buck! Is that a RSS 223 shooting 77gr TMKs? If it had a good mil reticle it would be the perfect scope. This is my second year using it and like it, but I like the 3-9 swfa probably better.Good on ya!, my self control would have gone by the wayside with that buck as well. Awesome buck congrats
How do you like that scope? My dad just got that one, mounting it up for him now. I might pick on up as well
Ok. Congratulations, very nice blacktail.Friday is the last day

NF shv 3-10x42 moar reticle is what I believe @roosiebull has on his rifle. My dad picked one up and I was checking it out liked its simplicity. Reticle seemed useful for mid to short range stuff. What scope yall talkin about?
Mine is the little NXS with moar reticleWhat scope yall talkin about?
It happens man, reading this made me think back on all the bucks I’ve missed in this exact scenario.Shot at a buck this evening and missed at least it wasn't a bad hit. Just rushed the shot. He was chasing a doe around.
