Reset cuffs yesterday after big rains. Six possums and another coon. That's 18 nesters in 3 nights on 200 acres.

3 more grinners and another coon. Pulling traps after tomorrow's check as I'm headed to Alberta on Thursday to hunt mountain lion.

And a weird one.


Double paw catch with a compound fracture on one leg and the coon was dead when we rolled up. Wonder what happened here. Stone cold dead.

If you skin the raccoon, it would be interesting to see if it's got any teeth puncher wounds, like maybe a coyote killed it.

Anyone having luck with Bridger dogless traps? I got 2 free from Minnesota Trapline. Caught an opossum and a bobcat but they just “don’t look right” when covered with dirt.

Yes, it does! Because I specifically targeted a fox and caught him, so it has to! Lol

Got another batch on the stretcher this morning before work.

This is our families first beaver.

I used the fascia and non useful pieces to stuff down dirt holes this am but…

I made Beaverritos with the good stuff. Happy to find out its delicious.

No, that's just that one pic its flipped up in because I was about to pop it to reset it.

The pan doesn't sit flat like the MB traps I'm accustomed to. It sits up at an angle and even with an excessive amount of covering dirt back on the trap bed it still sticks up.

This is the only other pic I have but it doesn't really show the angle.

I figured there is a reason they are "free".

One other thing I've noticed about them is that's a lot of contact area for rust to form whereas my other traps just have that little tiny night latch on the dog.

I wish I had that guys welding skills and free time!

I'll probably screw around with that nut when I pull them in a few weeks and boil and wax to put them up for next year.

Finally connected!! 26.6LB female.
That’s my 10 year old niece holding it. It was all she could do to lift it up.
