Here is my wife’s. The next week after I got mine above we were in the same area. We spotted one up high on the mountain and decided to get a closer look. We made it up to a location to get a better look. He was a big 3x following some doe to bed down.
A decent 4x came down the canyon and ran him out and then followed his doe back up the canyon and bedded.
We marked it on the map where we saw him bed and headed up the mountain to get above him and see if we could get a shot. We made it up and around and we were getting close to a nice rock outcropping about 200 yards across the bowl. All of a sudden a group of dogs started barking and he jumped up and headed over the next hill. We found the dogs and they were on a lion hunt.
We spent another week trying to find that guy again in the afternoons and after the next full weekend of not seeing much we were headed home with 1 weekend left to hunt.
Just by luck we spotted this 27” 3x4 getting out of his bed to chase some afternoon does. We made it to 105 yards and my wife decided she liked his character and width.

I killed the wrong buck. Odd number of hunters in our party 3rd season Colorado this year and I was the odd man out. Hunted solo for 4.5 days. I passed up 110 legal bucks, almost all dinks. Crazy deer numbers. Tracked a friends buck mid day on day 5 and then he hunted with me that evening. Single digits light snow and wind gave way to a perfect 30 degree calm evening. Buddy spotted a buck feeding with does that wasn’t big but biggest I had seen all week. 550 but figured it could cut off 100. Got about 10 yards and was busted. Buck ran over a nob and actually bedded while his does feed out the bottom.

Made a good stalk and watched him slink into the bottom before I could get a shot. Knew he’d come out if I just side hilled the drainage. Spotted his does at 200 and a 4pt came running them through the bottom. Shot through the quakies and it ended up being a smaller 4pt. Never did see him come out. His does and several dinks came out of the quakies after the shot. Smart old buck. 168gr LRK from x bolt 28 nosler in the heart. Not a drop of blood in the snow but he was piled up in what looked like a murder scene 25 yards up the draw from the shot.

2022 Utah general season. Did a countdown and both shot at the same time. Never done that before so it was pretty cool

EDIT: Here he is! First legal one we found in 5 days of hunting. Saw 300+ does and handful of smaller bucks before finding him. Even had a 3x3 bull elk at 38 yards before we found this guy.

Montana, phones don’t love to show snow but it was coming in sideways. Got two feet the next morning. Good eating deer, grass and canola.

First velvet buck took on the 2nd Weekend of Utah Archery hunt.
Also helped my uncle on a limited entry Utah tag and enjoyed one of the greatest mule deer weeks in my life!
