2022 Duck season

Got out for the first two Saturdays of early duck in S NJ. 3 shots, 3 ducks. Not bad for me. Pup was wet and happy!

I could really use a good coot shoot. Gumbo sounds awfully good.

Dusted my shotgun off and made my first trip to the local refuge today , missed 3 got 1 . I was impatient should have let em work in closer.

Got into birds each day of our trip last week, missed a lot of ducks and a few roosters too, but we were fortunate to hit home on these beauties.

Got the little one out for the Texas south zone opener last weekend. Birds worked well and we ended with a quick 2 man limit.

Had a few hours to get out to the refuge this morning . Shot much better managed 4. It was foggier than shît. Those Ruddy ducks good to eat first ones ive shot ?

I managed to get 6 this morning, good variety, very happy considering last time I only got one and it was on my walk out at the end of the day.

What loads you shooting? I would love to get mine out for some ducks.
My son killed his first Turkey with it. Modified choke and a #6 lead pheasant load.

What are your thoughts on Boss shells? My buddy has been using them but when we breast out birds there appear to be pieces of the copper shot vs a whole BB. Not sure what to think about them being brittle, they seem to work well. Curious of your experiences with them.

Yesterday was my first time using them. We are eating the birds tonight, but when I cleaned them yesterday I didn't find anything. These were teal and were very close for what it's worth, prob 15-20 yd shots. I will say, my buddy next to me was using a 12 ga with regular steel, #2. His birds would kind of sail after hitting them, mine would drop like a rock. So far Im impressed....I didn't get any shots at some of the larger ducks we saw. Would like to see how it does on those......
