After a very frustrating hunting season for myself, I was able to take this older heavy buck at 40 yards after watching him whoop up on some much larger but younger bucks for 4 days before I decided he was the one I’d go for.

I chased this Montana buck during the 2021 archery season and despite a few close calls, never made it happen. Rifle season came and went and I never saw him again. 2022 rifle season came along, and out of nowhere one night he appeared. I spent 2 weeks hunting him and waiting for him to cross onto public. The day he did I was waiting.

My 2022 mule deer hunt turned into a whitetail hunt when I saw this buck chasing does, I just saw drop tines and asked questions later definitely not my biggest whitetail but definitely the coolest! Taken on 11/15/22.
