It was a much slower year for us than usual. I'm guessing the amount of snow we had that lasted into the beginning June could be to blame. We still managed to shoot three bears on the last two days of hunting. So no complaints here. Two were with a suppressed 300 blackout, making that over a dozen bears with the little cartridge in the last few years. Even found a bullet base laying on the ground next to one of the bears.
What bullet are you using?

I only hunt suppressed anymore. The main reason I started buying suppressors, is because I hunt and shoot with my daughter most of the time. I didn't want her to have bad hearing like me. I've since noticed plenty of other benefits to hunting suppressed, like shooting multiple animals in a group because they aren't really spooked.
What did you say? I couldn't hear ya! haha I don't have an AR and not sure if that is the platform for your 300 blackout, but I imagine that caliber being perfect for a suppressor.

I was watching a bear 800yds away across the canyon working it’s way towards me when this one popped out 250yds below. After an hour of waiting for a clean shot in the worlds worst clearcut, I got a brief opportunity and took it. While quartering it, another bear showed up which I assume was the bear I had been watching earlier.

I got my first bear on Friday in AZ unit 23S. Solo and in the rain. I never imagined a hide could be so damn heavy. The biologist estimated he's six years old.

Close to home for me. I got out one day before the sow quota hit. Saw one little cub. Congrats on nice AZ bear!
