I see Robby has posted a thread for the best mule deer buck photo but this thread is for whatever mule deer harvest photo you would like to have on the meat pole. I hope to be there in about 45 days......
Good luck!

I don't have that much time off so I envy you for that. I will get out for spike elk oct 9th and hopefully turn up a few decent bucks to chase come the 23rd. It's a great time of year!

As he laid....Thompson Center Hawken with .62 Green Mountain barrel, 90 gr Goex 2f, and patched round ball from about 25 yards. I was sitting just left of the two small bushes at the top of the rock outcrop and he was bedded next to the dark shade, center-right. I waited 3 hours for him to stand so I could get a clean shot. I was held up by a doe and fawn laying just out of the picture to the right....a nice steady wind blowing uphill sure helped! A better picture of the buck is in the "Best Mule Deer Photo" thread.

not sure if I commented in this thread yet, but thanks Randy!

in fact, there a quite a few on the photo contest that couldn't win if hell froze over and really should be over here (sorry guys, not being judgy, but when the eyeball's hanging out, rack and hunter is cutoff, and a gutpile is visible in background, you ain't gonna win a pile of crap! ahahhahaa). I put this link in the contest thread multiple places.

Maybe we need to post the meat pole thread link in the photo contest next year--help me remember! I'm all good with people posting their kills up, no problem at all, but man there's some bad photography going on over there.

I was lucky enough to help these young men find a (inland blacktail) doe this year. The youngest’s first deer/big game animal, and his brother was right next to him. Pretty cool.

As much as Id like to post a big ole buck on here, they eluded me this year. I passed on a half dozen small bucks, which mostly get shot by other people, but overall Ive noticed my best spots improving. More bucks, bigger, older, and maturing nicely. Hoping for a wet winter thats not too cold so they survive. Lost some great old bucks in 2018/19 to a bad winter and its just now recovering.
