@mxgsfmdpx started a 2020 coyote board so let's get a 2021 going!

First coyote of 2021 for me and first thermal kill with my new Super Hogster on a Christensen Arms CA-15 G2 223 Wylde and a 40 berger varmint bullet. 20210101_214600.jpg

Got another this morning but he was super mangy. Going again here in an hour after the kids goto bed. Hopefully I can figure out how to load videos from the thermal, its a whole new world hunting with one!

I’ve killed a few this winter but here’s my first this season. Lost one yesterday. He hung up at 300 yards. Hit him in the chest, he “snow plowed” to a creek and hit the creek running. Bled for 50 yards then nothing. Our lack of snow here this winter is making it tough.

You too huh? We also have a low snow pack in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. It has also been pretty warm, so they only come out in the mornings when their heavy fur coats don't overheat them. I mean, it is only 20's in the morning and then 50s-60s in the afternoon. Crazy hot this time of year.

Got this young girl teenager in the morning. I am totally in love with my FoxPro Shockwave. Combining sounds with "FoxFusion" seems to work best. This one came in with a Crow/Owl fight combined with a JackRabbit distress.

Shot was taken with my 22-250 at 190 yards, the 50 grain VMAX went straight through and no blood came out until the next day when she started bloating.

I always start a stand with a mouth call so I don't blow anything out. This one came in from the 200 yard on the other side of a hill. Dead before he hit the ground

After a couple missed opportunities getting my rifle sorted out, this one wasn’t as lucky as the couple before him.

Took me about 10 shots because I can’t lead them yet but I’ll take it. That makes #3 for the year which is exactly how many we got from the time I started hunting last June though December 31st. I still don’t know what I’m doing but atleast it’s looking better for the year
