How's everyone's upland season been going? Have been finding plenty of birds again in northern WI

Nice pictures. Grouse season just opend here. Was out last weekend but didn't kill any. Saw quite a few but also training a puppy so no shooting unless we get a solid point to reward! With the heat, drought and poor scenting conditions that may be later rather than sooner!

Will be in Northern WI for a full week in October chasing grouse and woodcock with a good group of guys and three good dogs. I can’t wait.

What week and part of WI?. Usually I'm at our cabin 20 days out of October but will be in Jamaica this week with the wife and in NM for my brothers unit 36 first rifle elk tag. Then will be back up the 22nd-26th and agaain Nov 3-6

I have been out in Michigan (Middle northern peninsula) for the past two Sundays.

Still really green and summer like. Haven’t dialed in where the birds are yet. Looks like more humid hot weather this weekend too. Mid 70’s and wet is killing my old dog. A couple hard frosts would be so helpful.

Haven’t even found the woodcock yet. Weird season for me so far. On to Pheasant soon.

Bird season hasn't opened yet for me and both dog and I are ready to go. Youth season runs for a week starting this Saturday and if it all works out I will get to run him three days. Pretty warm and humid currently so I will probably just run him in the mornings but that should be plenty of time to find some birds.

Just finished up a hunt in Kansas. It was hot, hot, hot and there weren’t as many birds as usual but it was still good. First year we haven’t quite limited in as long as I can remember. Lots of pheasants and we mixed in a chukar hunt.

The early season has been good to us so far! Found grouse while bear hunting (because we never find grouse when we look for grouse) and dove while turkey hunting. Still a couple weeks left to fill the turkey tag before we start making weekly trips to Nebraska for pheasant and duck. Good luck everyone, stay safe, be well.

NW Wisconsin has been great first couple days. Snuck out with my 3 year old today, we won’t chat about the gimme I missed shortly after this pic. Have flushed 25 birds on my first 3 hunts. Lots of young broods with roosters that haven’t changed colors yet.

Spent a 3 day weekend with my FIL in Wisconsin last weekend and while his youngest setter is still figuring things out, I shot lights out and managed to take home a possession limit of grouse along with plenty of woodcock. Bird numbers seem like they're the best they've been in several years in the area we hunt. Heading to a different part of the state this weekend to see what we can make happen, and I'll probably get out one more time depending how bow hunting goes.
