Good looking GSP!

I haven't got my GSP out yet. Good lord I need to she's got energy to burn. Still a touch too warm for her in my neck of the woods not to mention the terrible air quality from all the smoke!

Pheasants Forever hosted a youth event yesterday and I got my son out on his first hunt since passing hunters safety. He missed more than his share but had a great time.

An outstanding goal. I just returned from my summer job in Bristol Bay, lots of spruce grouse around King Salmon.

I’m going to go out there and do some trout fishing this month or early next month worth bringing the dog??

Haven’t seen much in the way of ptarmigan at all, as far south as the narrows. I hike the rapids camp road from my lodge with my GSPs every day dogs usually find a couple of spruce grouse.
trout fishing pressure is picking up but not as bad as it’s been in the past few years. I left on the tenth, last fish I guided to was 33 x 19.
you should find good trout fishing at least.

Those are some nice trout! Got me excited to get out there hoping with covid the pressure is a little lower.

This was last weekend. I'm psyched for the rest of the season.

I agree, the dogs are ready if not quite in shape. We’ve been up in the blues looking for grouse and running the open ridges looking for elk sign. Hot and Smokey. I go in about 1000 hours, don’t want to bust a bow hunters stalk.
scary dry in the Blue mountains, be careful.

We have been getting out a lot, McCall has really improved his retrieving and finding injured birds in his second year.

Nebraska roosters. Its all coming together for my lil dude. I swear he knows the difference between a hen and rooster. We bumped several hens yesterday and he didn't bother to pursue or track, but every rooster, he was on like a madman. Also he has to be one helluva lucky dog, caught two porcupines without getting a face full of quills lol
