Both shot Monday morning on 2nd choice tags in CO. Died about 30 yards from each other. I took two buddies who had never killed an elk before. Mission accomplished!

Unit 51 New Mexico, first rifle public land do it yourself hunt. Killed at the end of opening day.

612 yards with my 7 WSM-175 ELD-X setup. The bullets performed very well. Not a huge bull, but he’ll eat well!

Same rifle, same bullet, 850 yard shot.

My first elk in CO! Shot him on him opening day after a buddy and I called him in for an hour! We closed the distance to 60 yards when I got my shot. Absolutely amazing experience that I will never forget!

1st Elk ever in CO unit 18. 5x6. 230 yd shot with .300 WSM. Ran 50 yds and died. Brutal weather but well worth it. Will post the full story in a new thread when I get the chance. Definitely have the bug
