My solo wilderness Wyoming bull from late September. Some of the most incredible elk rut action ive ever seen, and i was able to bring one of the herd bulls out with me. Can't wait to be back in there next year.

Shot a cow on my general tag with a best friend who had never elk hunted, never backpacked, nor spent any extended period of time in the mountains.

That is a beautiful bull. I love the photo with the horses framed in the rack.....May want to submit that in the elk photo contest.

CO fourth season on a leftover tag in a unit that was new to me. Hunting solo, I was fortunate enough that this bull fed out across the canyon from me at 475 yards on Thursday just before the sun went down. I field processed him and packed out all my gear and a rear quarter on Friday, and packed the two fronts to the top of the ridge where the rest of the hike was flat. On Saturday my brother and both of our wives arrived. The girls took the fronts the flat rest of the way back to the truck while my brother and I dropped down into the hole I shot him in. He packed a rear and the straps and loins, I took the head and cape.

What an incredible hunt. This bull has some great character. He's got crown points as well as little sevens on each side, making him an 8x8. My biggest bull to date by quite a stretch. I can't thank my family enough for helping me finish the packout on Saturday.

First timer Colorado OTC early September
2 hours into the first day of a 12 day archery hunt

nice! yeah first half hour of my first elk hunt (colo first rifle, bull only tag), had two cow elk walk by on opposite side of canyon. i thought 'this is going to be real easy.' but for me, those were the last elk i saw the whole five days.

4 points or a 5” brow tine in CO. That bull looks like a legal 1.5 year old which there aren’t too many of! Congrats to the hunter.

Thanks I couldn’t remember if it was 4 or 5 points. I some how must have gotten the 5” brow tine in my head as 5 points required.

Don’t you have to have 4 points on at least one side for CO OTC?????

As a couple others mentioned, yes or a 5" brow tine.

He has a 5" "drop tine" on his left side that you can't see well in the pictures which gives him 4 on that side and he had a point just over an inch long on the back of his right antler which gives him 4 on that side as well.

Funny thing is he had a herd of 8-10 cows all to himself so I call him my "herd bull" ha!
