2018 Bows

I am shooting a Halon and very happy with it. This is my second season with it. Thinking of upgrading next spring just to keep the resale value up and have the latest technology. I haven't shot the Halon 32 yet, but I hear it is more accurate at longer ranges (hard to imagine really). Anyway, has anyone heard if Mathews will stay with this as their flagship bow for a second season or will they have something new in the works?

They are coming out with a longer one. 35" I believe it was. That's about it.

Wonder how much a 35 inch version will weigh? The 32 is already pretty heavy.

Seeing the Hoyt info sheet is just going to make the wait tougher for me, reads like a lot of change which could be good or a little scary, I was already a big fan of what they offered.

They already have a 35” Halon X so I don’t see that happening. The leaked pics I have seen show a Bow around 30-32”.

The leaked stuff I saw said "longer". Maybe it will be 37-38". We'll see in mid November I guess.

If you look at the overall length of the Bow in comparison to the arrows which are going to be 29-30 it’s a short bow. Mathews hasn’t done a 35” flagship Bow since the LX. I don’t see them doing that now.

That’s full MSRP prices. Won’t be that much at your dealer. MAP on the new Hoyt aluminum is $1099. Can’t remember what the Carbon is. So basically a $100 price jump.

No matter ...bow prices are out of hand. I think the big company that mitigates prices long term can gain market share.

Between CA, NV, and CO I have only been in one shop out of 25 or so that had current year model bows for sale below full msrp. Where the heck are all these shops that sell for MAP?

There are different price structures for shops also depending on how many bows they order. So if your shop just does a handful of bows a year chances are they’ll have higher prices.

Same around here, I bet 90 % of the bows in the pro shops within driving distance of me have tags listing the msrp.

the rack is in the minority, almost every shop I walk into now, bows are full freight.

I didn't read through the whole thread but I was told Xpedition is releasing their lineup on 10/16..

Depending on 2018 bows I'm pretty sure I'm making the switch from Hoyt this year
