When it became overcast later in the day, the difference between the Revic gen 2 and EL was obvious. The contrast and resolution difference was incredible at 6000 yards. Yes, a long distance but the EL was far superior. In full sunlight today, I fail to see the difference I observed yesterday afternoon.

Have you tried the different target modes to check the ranging difference?

Just confirmed, new app was released for Apple in the last 24 hours. All the features shown in the videos are now availble on the app. Gen 2 shows up tomorrow, testing Fiday. Also lost all my profiles...

I got my Gen2 yesterday. Glass seems to compare to my SLC's. Will need to do more comparrisons. With that said, I am having a VERY difficult time getting the BT to sync . Shows it connected, but when I try to "Manage", it say says "Please connect the device first" ... it shows BT connected in Bluetooth, and "Connected" in the app, but obviously something is buggered ...

I have a call in to Revic. If anyone else knows anything, I'd appreciate help.

Oh yea, also the focus wheel is still like turning a rusty valve ...

You have to think about it from a hunting tool perspective. Multiple gun profiles are pointless when I’m hunting with one gun.

And it takes literally seconds to sync in a backup gun profile or your buddies gun profile as the app stores as many profiles as you need on your phone. You click 3 buttons on your phone on the app and the next guns ballistics solution pops in.

I swap between gun profiles nearly daily in shooting as the guns get so hot I don’t have a good sight picture anymore due to mirage. Takes a few seconds and I’m back shooting with trued up ballistics for the next gun.

My BR4 handheld does the same thing, I have to turn blue tooth on then remove the battery and reinstall it, then I’m able to connect the device in the app

I turned off the phone, and things started working. The ol "ctrl-alt-del" fixes everything ...

New app is buggy. Lots of Bluetooth connectivity issues and some freezes while trying to update BR4 software. Ammo wouldn’t populate selecting a bullet for some profiles, would only allow manual entries.

Mapping feature works with the BR4 though… nice surprise.

I expect some issues with an update this substantial. I hope Revic is quick to address them.

Just opened the app and all my profiles reappeared.

I was having the manual bullet issue last night but after re-entering the bullet diameter a couple times it started working.

No. It’s clunkier and slower in what I’ve used. And for me it’s an extra guarantee that I have the correct profile loaded in and haven’t cycled the binos to another gun profile in some fashion. Buttons on binos get pressed more often than folks realize. For me the ideal RF bino has a single low profile button and nothing more. The phone does everything else. Other than checking weather and taking photos, I’m not dicking around with electronics while hunting. The profile gets loaded in for the gun that gets grabbed off the back seat and I go kill.

I’m not saying it’s perfect at all but why do you need to cycle through profiles on the bino or on a phone anyway? And how often are you switching profiles while hunting?

I would think trying to use the display in the binos to display data to select between 5 different rifles and 10 different loads would be anything but simple. High likelihood of picking the wrong one with a limited display.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I would prefer to keep the binos to one profile.

Knowing that you can only load one profile I’d still like it shown on the screen. Sig manages to do it, and I caught myself using the wrong profile once because of that.

Somehow cycling the binos to a different profile accidentally with the sigs seems damn near impossible. Having used the revics for a whole season last year I found that when I’d go to the range and I selected the profile it wouldn’t always “sync” that profile and you’d not know it until the dope seemed off. Maybe it was user error, but I think the app could be more idiot proof.
As much as we all carry our phones with us there have been times I’ve gone to the range and forgot my phone at home. Hasn’t happened on a hunt but if it did and worst case scenario I was shooting my 223 last but didn’t change it back over to my 22GT after that range trip I still wouldn't have to worry about it. That is more likely to happen than switching profiles accidentally at least in my opinion.

And I would say if you have more than 1 load for a rifle then sure it could be easier to pick the wrong one. I have 4 main rifles. They all have 1 load. Very simple to cycle between 3 profiles and if in doubt a short press of a button and it shows me which profile I’m on.

Sounds like I’ll stick with the sig gen II’s for a while. Lots of bugs to figure out
