I was able to harvest this bull on a late rifle hunt in Idaho (December 2016). The stalk started about a thousand yards away. The bull was with 6 other bulls in a big valley that was mostly flat with small folds in the valley floor. I was able to loop around on them and slip into one of those folds to close the distance.

The last 200 yards to get into shooting distance was the hard part. I slowly crawled on hands and knees for about a 100 yards as the terrain would allow for my concealment but the last 100 yards had me belling crawling in a foot of snow out in the wide open in my Kryptek overwhites inch by inch until I could get the terrain enough in my favor to make a clear shot through the snow. Right at 190 yards is when I got a clear shot and they still had no clue I was there. All 7 bulls were bedded in a circle and I took him in his bed with two shots.

Very happy with him and happy to be out of the cold! -10 out there in the Sawtooth and doubled up sleeping bags to stay alive.
