Congrats, great pics and story. You went into one of the busiest trail heads in the Rubies. My very first trip was in the same area and I saw lots of hunters. It paid off though, thanks for sharing.

Awesome job and great write up. You went through the whole process of getting to know a new area and finding the deer. That's a tough environment to do it in...I know as I was there too.

Added: I re-read this and really looked at the photos...man you really did some walking! You were straddling both sides of the mountain and hunting from "on-high" with some major trips down into the drainage's....lots of work! I wore myself out just camping in one drainage and going over into the next to hunt everyday, without the big vertical over the top. My hat is off to you!

..I saw your truck at the trailhead I think...Ram 2500 with Cougar plates?

Great story and congratulations. Nothing better than being in those mountains as the sun rises and sets. Little taste of heaven, I think.
