Well it definitely doesn’t like that bullet. The 180gr TBT shoots sub-MOA out of the gun. Maybe I’ll try something else and see what happens.

200gr ELD-X generally do well, so do 195gr and 208gr AMAX/ELD-M’s from 1-11” twists,; and the couple of barrels I have tried have shot the Berger 200.20x well too.

Thanks for the info on those. Hopefully the selection improves locally.

It isn’t the weight- it’s that bullet. The 1-11” barrels will shoot most 200-210gr match bullets fine.
Agreed. That bullet has lead in the ass and no lead up front. It makes it long for its weight and oddly balanced. Mine shot 200 gr ELDX just fine.

I would test it at the range you plan to hunt.

I know this is an old post, but are you talking about the Terminal Ascent bullet?

If so……

Had that bass-ackwards, didn't I? My mistake. Thanks for correcting. Didn’t change my results though. They were only marginally stable out of my gun. I’ve since shot these out of a 1:9” twist in the same caliber and had no issues. Not saying they won’t work in every 1:11”, but they didn’t work well in mine.

I actually spoke with a Federal rep over the weekend. Due to the design and being somewhat nose heavy, they do need a little more twist to stabilize.
