.300 Win Mag Federal Premium 200 Grain, Terminal Ascent vs 200 gr ELD‑X Precision Hunter I have a 1:10 Twist barrel.

I am looking for a good all around round, At this time I don't have plans for a hunt but want to get it sighted in with a well rounded round. I know it does come down to what the gun likes but I am looking to grab a couple boxes of either of these to get started.

Around me most shots would be under 200 Yards, But I would not use this gun around here, I am hoping to get out west or up north and hunt some bigger game at further distances at some point.
Thanks

I shopped around a bit and settled on the TA. I have no experience but I have heard the ELD-X performs best at +300 yrds. Depends on what you are hunting as well. Just see if one groups better with your rifle. Also TA just came out with a 175gr option to consider.

Not in my experience.

This little meat bull was around 150 yards, maybe 175, 162 ELDX from a 7mm Rem Mag.

The discussion was brief.

This little feller wasn’t much over 100 yards, 150 ELDX, 7mm-08.

Also 7mm-08, 150 yards or so

Same -08 as the little 4x4, a hair over 80 yards

One shot apiece.

Well, you can’t argue with that! Apparently, everything you read on the internet isn’t true.

If you aren't hunting with it soon by a hundred rounds of something on sale and get some range time. Then buy 2 boxes of several different ammos and start shooting groups of 5 at 100 and 200 yards. Write date, temp, ammo, and yardage on the target and take a picture when you are done. By the time you need the rifle you will know which rounds shoot best. Then decide between the types based on the performance you are looking for.
