I once shot at least a 200 inch mule deer but then someone stole it before I could recover it.
It was for sure a BOAL

Whitetail, but being from the east coast and not hunting Mule deer I'm a bit biased. That said I'm now here for the memes that this thread is about to dive off into.

Is that based on a scientific study? What is your source for that? Not to challenge, but I'd like to see that study and what underlies the data.

Idk bout a study but mulies are generally more sensitive then whitetails.. whitetail culture is way ahead of western culture and i think theres better management for the whitetails age self imposed by alot of hunters... mulies get managed by the state and honestly i doubt the majority of mulie hunters know the difference between a 3 year old buck and 5 year old buck

Mulies need 7 years and whitetails need 5...just that alone is a disadvantage

With all that said i think the whitetail is the "smarter deer" and a huge accomplishment if one goes and targets a big one and kills a big one

Speaking in generalizations of course, please dont get offended

200” typical northwest Montana mountain whitetail. You can’t buy one of those!
Based on a lot of conversations, that is like finding sasquatch. Even in Iowa, a 200" whitetail is not easy to find. They are even harder to get access to hunt.

Once upon a time it would have been the whitetail but I am currently a little obsessed with killing a big mule deer.
