I'm not a reloader, so please forgive my ignorance.

I have a 410 that shoots only 2-1/2" shells and would love to try on decoying waterfowl. I wondering if anyone knows if a manufacturer who makes 2-1/2 inch #7 TSS loads?

Seems I can only find 3" factory TSS loads.

If not, I'm trying to find a reloading shop that I could custom order some, anyone have any recommendations?

Call Foxtrot out of Indiana, I would think he would make you anything you wanted. Probably suggest an 8, 8.5 or 9.

Pry open the crimp of your shells dump the lead then add non toxic #9’s
you should find a video of a hunt with a guy that did that.

Yeah, I watched that video on YouTube.

Didn't appear to be the most "safe" way to reload shells.

He was also using a SxS, I have a lever action Winchester 9410 and am afraid the crimp will cause feeding issues.

As long as nothing punches the primer it is safe but feeding issues could be an issue. I reload each shell by hand but split a 1/2” copper tubing and use hose clamps to firmly support the hull before crimping by hand.
most would never take the time to and that it is fine.
my reloads cycle thru a bolt action but mostly I use a single shot.

Just curious, do you have the 9410 with chokes? Or cylinder bore?

I have one with cylinder bore & still messing with shot size to make it as good as I can, but 15-20yrds is my max "humane" distance. I have a Henry with chokes and have taken rabbits at 60-70yrds with it, so big difference between guns, more than I expected from .410 both with 2.5" #6

9410 with cylinder choke. I used it this past weekend ok a tame bird pheasant hunt over pointers and took my first game animal with it.

I shoot so many geese with my 12ga and I'm just enjoying trying something different with sub-gauges. I won't use it unless the goose is finishing and feet down. I was able to take two geese and a duck this year with my 28ga and I just want to see if I can accomplish it with a 410.

I get it, I'm kind of in the same boat, never had a .410 until the past few yrs and really learning to like it despite all the negative hype. I find the 9410 to be a fun early season grouse gun. I'm kind of hoping the ammo hoarding stops so there are a few more offerings on the shelves. Good luck with your ammo search and goose hunt
