1p and 2p tents

I know there are tons of tents out there and discussions about them. I'm looking to downsize from and Argali 4p. It's just to much tent for me and the group I go with, I typically end up in my own tent or solo.

I curious about a few if anyone has any experience with one of or a few of these tents on my short list.

Seek Outside:
Silex
Guardian

Argali:
Owyhee
Rincon

Durston:
X-mid1
X-mid2


having been in some tough to pitch areas I was also curious about the footprint on some of these. honestly leaning toward the Silex or Owyhee. can the x-mid run without the netting?

Good tent, even balance between footprint, weight, and headroom. I’ve gone in the opposite direction as you. When I’m running a floorless, I want it big/tall.

I'll give you a vote for the silex. I've spent quite a few nights in mine and really like it for what it is.

I have a silex and a guardian. Spent many many nights in the silex. It's a great one person tent. The guardian is nice also-but a lot bigger. Bigger foot print-which gives you plenty of room inside. But, to big in my opinion for most of my off trail campsites.

I have a Durston midx2 solid. Really like it. Doesn't go fly only, but as above mentioned, if I go floorless I go big. Not familiar with the others but am sure all are great (have an 8 man SO tipi that gets the most use). But on paper comparing the Durston 1xmid solid to the owlee, the Durston is 5 oz lighter (in full tent mode) and utilizes both hiking poles to give more interior space. It's also quite a bit cheaper. Enjoy the search and let us how you like what you end up with!

I’ve got a guardian. It’s a great tent and a palace for one (it’s a true comfortable 2p tent and I’m a big guy). However, it does have a pretty large footprint. For the size, weight, and versatility it’s great, but if footprint is a big concern I might consider other options.
