I really wish I had not asked for the link.
I've been very, very impressed with it so far ... fit in and finish are streaks ahead of the Tisas. Slide is smoother than my (admittedly old) CZ. I haven't had higher-end 1911s to compare it with, but have handled a Colt, and in that very particular sample of 1:1, the Bul has the edge.
I think it's an odd brand - apparently can be hard to get in the US. Some not keen on due to the country of origin.
And it's almost as if there's an inverse bell curve online of focus on high-end 1911s (say, from Staccatos up to Atlas etc) and low-end. I think Bul in general is regarded as something of the middle ground, which there doesn't seem to be as much interest in - people wanting a cheap entry can go for Turkish models, and Ben Stoeger's quote on Bul was that "people who get Buls are just the people who can't afford Staccatos". I don't quite understand this position, as he's been testing a Kimber fairly extensively.
So the people left reviewing them (on YT at least) are a mix of newish/wannabe guntubers, or some folks who know how to shoot, and have raved about the Buls .. but aren't necessarily taken seriously by "serious" comp guys. But when you strip away the personalities (and have some skepticism about guntuber content), the folks who've used them tend to overwelmingly have good things to report.
Personally, I don't need high-end, but don't have enough time or skills to mess with things that will take some work to get them up to speed. Perhaps Bul is somewhat like the Tikka of the 1911 world?
