160 Nosler Accubond, 162 Eldx, or 168 Berger VLD

For those of you who have been shooting the ELDX, what has the accuracy been like in 7 mag?

Browning x bolt speed lr and only got it this fall just before season but the 162 eld-x was sub Moa in multiple groups for me so took it hunting and took cow on a late season hunt.

I "think" I'm shooting this exact same load - with similar results. Also a Tikka.

Another option I was told to consider, was the 175 Berger elite hunter. Has anyone had good results with it?

Accubond, all day, every day. I've killed over 60 head of African game with it running 3050' at the muzzle.

I would vote for 162 eldx. They are available, cheaper, most guns seem to shoot them well, and they have worked well for me. They are not a bonded bullet so don’t expect them to perform like an accubond.

I'd choose the AB for terminal performance, the ELD-X for cost/availability, and the VLD for pure accuracy.

All of that said, I hunted with the AB last year.

In my 7mag I have moved from 168 Bergers classic hunters to Accubonds. Been liking the performance on game of the AB in my 7mag over the Berger. Although i have not had an animal get away with the Bergers i have more confidence with AB from comparing the two. Like stated AB have been hard to find and Hornadys are always available so i will likely be working of an ELDX load for deer and keep my AB for elk until i can find more. Although i think the eldx are more than capable on elk as well.

If you're a high shoulder shooter or expect an exit wound and blood trail, accubond. If you prefer behind the shoulder and want a full energy dump and explosive fragmentation in the vitals, VLD or ELD. Those 2 also have an edge with BC that may factor into your max shooting range, but all 3 are good options. All 3 also shot well out of my 7 mag, I just didn't like searching for accubonds like an addict, and don't care about a hole on the opposite side because they typically fold when you hit your mark with the other 2.

I use 178gr eldx and 180gr AB's in my 300wsm
178's ELDX get taken for goat/sheep hunts,
180AB's get taken when hunting elk.
if you have areas where you have some distance to shoot then ELDX will work
if you know your only going to be shooting say 300 yards and under id take the AB's
all my bulls have been shot within 50 yards in the timber and there is no way id trust a ELDX under 100 yards at a elk. I've had some poor performances on white tails within 70 yards using ELDX. But they work wonders 300 yards and out. Just my 2 cents

eldx is the best. How much you want for those acubonds? I'll take them off your hands. Don't want them rotting or any thing.

160 gr Nosler partitions under 400 yards and 160 Nosler Accubonds 400+, both have been outstanding.
