I'm looking for a pair of 15x56 binos to use primarily for range spotting out to 500-600 yards, and would like to keep it under $800. I don't plan to use these for hunting so low light performance isn't all that important. I'm currently considering

Bushnell Match Pro ED
Athlon Cronus
Burris Signature HD

I don't love the reticle that the Bushnell's have but could live with it if the glass is considerably better. Open to suggestions.

I also see some used ones for sale in the classifieds in my price range...

I volunteered on a few occasions to be a RO at PRS matches, spent several full days behind a pair of Leupold BX-5 15x56 on a tripod. They were comfortable to use, worked excellent, and the image quality/FOV was more than sufficient to spot trace, impacts, and misses. You should be able to pick up a pair close to your price range if patient. If I had $800 to spend, I'd be picking Leupold before anything you listed. Admittedly, I haven't used any of them, so take it for what it's worth.

At one of those matches, someone let me check out a pair of Meopta 15x56. In my uneducated humble opinion they were on another level for image quality as compared to the BX-5. If you could save up another $400 or so I think it would be worth waiting to get them.

I used to own a pair of Steiner 15x56. Would say the image quality was a tiny bit brighter and crisper than the BX-5's. They are not commonly on the radar in this class, and I think I remember being in them for <$1k in like new condition. The eye cups drove me absolutely insane though with their "side shield" shape, and I would not buy them again for that reason alone.

The Swarovski and Meopta 15x are the only two to consider when upgrading.

They are so similar I don’t know you’d ever see a difference optically. The form factor is where the Swaro has the advantage imo. Smaller and easier to manage.

Yeah and they're about 3x what I really have budgeted for this. But I'm sure they're nice. I'm not upgrading either since I don't own any 15x binos currently.

There is a pair of the Leupold BX-5 for sale in the classifieds currently. I'm just hesitant considering new member, no ratings....

I have a pair of Bushnell Match Pro’s w/reticle. Use them for ROing and general long range spotting. They are pretty darn good for the price, just slightly below SLC’s in image quality. Have seen them in SH classifieds for $400-500 used.

I used the Athlon last hunting season and they are pretty dam nice. I borrowed from a friend who uses them for his matches. Not going to get a pair though as they are heavy.

ZeroTech Trace ED hits way above its price point.
+1 on the zerotech's, especially for the money. Center 2/3 is clear and defined, but they are a little blurry around the edges.

They are overall better than Maven C4 15x56 ($550), and the Maven B5 15x56 ($1,800) is similar to the ZT's in the center with better clarity around the edges.

This is the same model, correct? It doesn’t say “ED” but I think it’s the same.

How do the ZeroTech’s compare to Vortex Kaibab?
Haven't looked through a set of Kaibabs in years, but I do remember a very fussy eyebox (tiny exit pupil).

Yes, that's them.

I dont own a set, but I have looked through multiple sets of ZeroTech Trace 15x56mm binoculars at PRS matches in Australia and find them very impressive. For the money I have not seen anything near in the same league. I have been considering selling the Leica and Meopta 12x binos that I have, and replacing them with the Zerotech.

I found a pair on opticsplanet for $600 and went ahead and bought them. Looking forward to trying them out.
