I have a pair of Vortext 15x56 diamondback binos that I’m looking to upgrade from. I do not mind spending the money but want to make sure the “bang is worth the buck”. I think I narrows down the selection to the zeiss conquest hdx 15x56 or the swarovski slc 15x56. I know the Swarovski is the holy grail but the Zeiss looks to have good reviews and for almost $1k less seems to be a smart choice. Unfortunately no store around me has both in stock for me to compare. Anyone have experience with both that could give some advice? Thanks.

Cannonball: I’ll check those out. Were you able to compare the Meopta side by side with either Zeiss or Swarovski? Wondering what made you suggest those over the other two….thanks!

On a roadtrip back from SD Mule deer hunting so have some time to research and after looking at those Meostar binos they look solid and I may just go with those. I was set on one of the two mentioned in the thread but now I may be picking up the Meostar…Thanks for the suggestion.

Wasn’t sure if you saw this, not that it’s the end all be all review but worth watching. I’d be interested to see his thoughts today and if the review ends similarly.

Also watch the classifieds here. You can snag a pair for quite a nice discount.

Agreed, its more than just 2 choices. I bought The 15x Meoptas after a side by side with Swaros.

The Mavens are darn good for the $ especially if you get the 10% or 15% show discount.

I sold my Meopta’s when I compared them to the vortex 18x UHD’s side by side in the field. It’s true. The cheaper vortex are poor, but the UHD’s are in the same class with the top Binos..

The Zeiss Conquest HDX 15x56 Binocular is a great unit and on sale this month. Another one to consider is the GPO Passion HD 15x50 Binocular which has excellent optical quality.

Just a note to folks. I took several pairs of binos- 12X50 Razor UHDs, 18X56 Razor UHDs, Sig Zulu 6 16X42 Gen 2, Sig Zulu 6 20X42 Gen 2, and a pair of Swaro NL 10X52 pure binos. The Swaros were quite brighter and provided a superior view at 800 to 2000 yards. I didn't use a tripod but very few people look at those 10s. They are dynamite.

I didnt. I had some Leupold's but I hated the eyecups. I got mine used locally but read a lot of reviews here like this:

I have never tried the Zeiss, but is there a reason why the NL 14x52 are not on your list? The SLC are a nice bino, but they are pretty rough compared to the NL.
