Working up a load with the Hornady 108eldm.

Brass: Hornady 243 brass (once fired)

Bullet: Hornady 108 eldm

Powder: Winchester staball 6.5

Primer: CCI br2

COL: 2.825 (factory 243 tikka mag)

My goal is to reach 3k fps and have a cone of fire of around 1 MOA. Wish me luck lol

43.5 grains of staball 6.5 is getting me the speeds I want. 10 more loaded up at 43.5 grains will tell more of the story…

I just had a 1-8 243win put together on a M70 PF. To do this exact thing hoping for 3k fps with a 22in tube, but my first go around will be H4350.

Plan on trying Staball 6.5 and H4831sc with the 108 eldm, so I am very interested in your results. What kind of brass are you using? I was thinking about trying lapua but not sure if it is worth the extra cost.

I’m always tempted to try top shelf brass, I just have too much other stuff on hand to get through first. Hornady, Remington etc.
I’d like to see someone’s else’s results using better quality brass. Just velocity and number of firings.

I’m the same way. I’m sure if I was a bench rest shooter id be different. I’m just a construction worker who like to hunt and tinker lol

I’ve always gotten Hornady brass to shoot very well in my 6.5 Creedmoor.

I’m going to load up 5 @ 43.3, 10 @ 43.5 and 5 @ 43.7 and see what happens. Once I find a good node I’ll call it a day.

Do you know how far off the lands you are at that seating depth?

H4350 should get you to 3000 around 41.9 or h1000 around 48.

41.9 h4350 in starline brass shoots very well in 1:8 tikka.

How’s Starline brass for you? Older fella in town who gives me reloading advice says for the money it’s pretty good stuff
