108 eld-m ideal twist rate

Looking at a new 6cm barrel for one of my tikkas and was wondering what the ideal twist rate is based on everyone's experiences. My gunsmith is recommending a 1-7.75 twist. Hornady's website says minimum 1-8. What would you ask for? 1-7 and slower are all options. This will be a 16.5" barrel shooting primarily factory ammunition.

I have a 7.5 in my AR and it shoots the heavier stuff great. Personally, I like the 7.5.

Run some numbers in 4DOF and see what works for your minimum expected hunting elevation.
