I got to the range yesterday and made a course of fire for January. The positions were based off of shot opportunities I had in the field this year. I used this target
I just hit print and it printed the top and bottom across the short side of the paper. (I printed on a piece of paper my kids were drawing on. Disregard drawing on lower left.)
Shots are scored as noted on target, on paper outside the circle is 4. E has to be in the 9 to count. All shots start from standing.
H- 2 shots. On paper. Standing supported on tree, post, etc., 20 seconds
O- 2 shots offhand. On paper. Set timer for 2 minutes, start timer and acquire target offhand, hold your aiming position until the timer hits one minute, shoot one shot, run fifty yards and shoot another before timer goes off
R- 2 shots. On paper. Seated unsupported 20 seconds
S- 2 shots. On paper. High kneeling (think about being on your tiptoes, but on you knees) supported by tree, post, or other vertical support 20 seconds
E- 4 shots. 9 ring to count. Build and break prone with items you take hunting. No time limit

I haven't been shooting as much during hunting season and it shows. Practice with snap caps also revealed a flinch creeping in to my shooting. Lots of room for improvement here. Show me how it's done boys!
