100 yard game of HORSE

If you are timing out or finding yourself frustrated, this is normal. Shoot it and be honest. Learn what to work on. If any tips or questions arise, ask away.
I shot them all cold/unpracticed and was hustling to make time, you were less generous than me. If you guys whip me terribly this month I might have to start dry running things.

The fireballs shooting at dusk was an unexpected, but useful piece of practice.

I shot the drill today. I put the targets horizontal and it did come into play.

S - 20 I timed out on this one and shot the last one about 1 second after the buzzer, so I subtracted the highest score

Got out this morning before it got hot. I needed a little gunfire therapy anyway. The times are tight.

I was having a hard time hearing my timer. I’m going to deduct 10 points and 1x because I’m fairly certain I exceeded time on one stage.

H 28
O 17
R 38 1x
S 29 1x
E 32

144 2x
-10
134 1x

Good course.

H. 30 2x
O. 15
R. 39 1x
S. 15
E. 37 1x

136 4x

I was going more for speed than hits 🤪
Might shoot it again this week just to see if I can do better. I'm assuming we are only counting the first posted run though?

Edit to add: horizontal target saved me a couple times 😂

My wife loves when I start shooting 20 minutes before we have to go somewhere.

On H I used the 6x6 post and grabbed it with my hand for a foreword rest. Starting from condition 3 I loaded, went back on safe, popped my caps, popped my sternum strap, removed my right arm, built the position and took 3 shots.

On O I gotta little "competition serious" with the tape. I correctly assumed I wouldn't have time to mess with sticks so I started and finished in kneeling supported with the front of the rifle on the pack. I got the first and only shot off just before the timer.

I gotta stop looking at @Nine Banger shooting pics. I am immediately filled with jealousy that you are shooting from your porch. That heat index looks 🥵
One thing I miss about my old property is the 1,000 yard range from my elevated front porch. I built the house and porch on the proper angle to accommodate the shooting.

Shooting over the old barns to the right had targets on steeper hills from 600-1,000 yards. Shots directly over the front fence from 100-500.

Driving 15 min to 1,000 plus yard shots in the mountains here in AZ ain’t bad, but it’s not shooting off your porch that’s for darn sure.

Had a long hot mid day out shooting. Shooting from 10 am to 1pm isn’t ideal in Arizona summers haha.

I ended the day planning on shooting all the letters but was just overheated honestly. I tried out a new “hot weather shirt” from a company that SUCKED at wicking sweat out and letting the breeze in. Felt like shooting in a soft, comfy tarp.

@Nine Banger I assume you don’t want that shirt back? Haha. I only sweat out around 2 gallons of water and iced tea combined into it.

I only shot H and O before feeling early signs of heat exhaustion and packed it up.

Had to use the same target as July go round as I left the new stack I printed in the gun room. Too hot to video sorry, the iPhone kept overheating and going into “iPhone needs to cool down” mode.

Let's split the shipping and send the shirt back to China.

It was the opener for white-tailed season here yesterday and last night at dusk my kestrel says it was still 90.7F and 81% humidity...

Nice shooting.

What was your shot process for "O"?
