100 yard game of HORSE

On your "R" are you counting the corner shot out past the 7 ring as a 7?

If so, and that counts, I need to add 14 to my "R"
Yeah, I realized once I posted that it might not make it on a 8x11, but it fit on the official b-8s I had on hand 😅

@Carl Ross I like your seated position a lot, might need to try that next time.

Video def not required. I just thought videos might be useful learning tools for those who don’t shoot positional much.

I can see how it can be useful for sharing notes and finding better practices.

Carl, you make it look easy.

I challenged myself to finally figure out my par timer after I watched your videos instead of using my phone.

I'm going to practice to open my scope caps like you too.

I use my par timer a lot, most of my PRS practice is one shot drills to a par time.

Anything in the shooting realm I'm trying to get decent at, I figure out what I want to do movement-wise, then drill it until it happens without thinking about it.

It seems to work alright, if someone has something better I'm happy to steal it!

Kind of off topic, but curious if folks are using “practice/bulk” ADI/AAC ammo for this, or actual hunting loads?

For 100 yard stuff other than chrono work and “groups” it’s generally cheaper ammo out of my guns. For my long range practice in the mountains it’s the hunting loads with profiles all synced up and ready with current DA.

Any suggestions for a decent timer? Just need it to work well, don’t need fancy.

I've had this one for over 10 years. Would be willing to sell cheap probably, just upgraded to the Shooters global, it's expensive but really nice. Picks up dry fire even, have seen major gains with pistol stuff being able to dry fire with accurate time feedback

At the moment I just have one loading for my 223, 75 ELD's @ 2800 via 8208 XBR. I'd shoot whatever for this though, as long as it was reasonably accurate.

I use these three depending on the application.

The phone app I just use as an indoor dry fire par timer (the others are too loud for my taste). It's a little buggy but does what I want otherwise.

The CED 7000 I picked up on recommendation from Form, I use it to pick up suppressed rifle shots, most timers won't. It does a great job at that.

The Pocket Pro is my default for pistol or outdoor par times. I could probably replace it with the CED but I haven't. It has a belt clip already (I know I can get one for the CED), and the 9v battery lasts me over a year, the CED needs charged each month.

I haven't got THAT into timers. I know people who really like both the Shooters Global and the Kestrel for more $$$, but these have been doing the job for me. If I shot and trained full time (or close to it) I'd probably have a lot more opinions.

I've been on an IMI Razor Core kick.

It's not cheap, but not expensive and the cheap stuff I've been buying is not satisfying.

Well I went out today with the intention of shooting these and some DNR d-bag kicked me out of the pit I was shooting at. Apparently an earthen backstop isn't allowed to have trees/brush on it or else, "there could be berry pickers back there". Ridiculous, I'm so sick of western Washington...

Got plans next weekend but I'm going to try and fit this in still.

Those DNR folks would try to tell us similar things, but get this, on our own land.

They said we couldn’t use certain natural berms as they are home to endangered species like burrowing owls.

They also said shooting coyotes down near the wet lands (not natural wetlands, wetlands created by leaking aqueducts) were habitat for red legged frogs and tiger salamanders.

I shot the challenge a couple of times. On the first round, I forgot the some of the rules and timed out on one target from not putting in my ear protection prior to starting the timer. I taped up first round holes and shot again today.

Fun challenge. I missed the paper with one of my post run offhand shots and two shots from prone unsupported.

I posted my targets vertically because that's what everyone seemed to be doing, but I think that a horizontal piece of paper would more accurately represent an animals vitals. I'm looking forward to next month's challenge.

I'll bring up the rear haha.

H = 28
O = 16
R = 16
S = 16
E = 18

Total = 94

Potential volume warning on the video.

I've sporadically filmed shooting drills for about a year, should do it every time. Quite a few spots for improvement I can see thanks to it.
