Cabela's has the 10x42 Diamondback HD for $150 through fathers day.

I am thinking about getting them for just a pair to keep 24-7 in the truck. Are these worth it? Or are there better options for ~$150?

I'd post a link but the site is down for maintenance.

Those binos are not even worth $100 in my opinion. @gr8fuldoug from cameraland can get you squared away.
What he said.

I had a set for the truck that went in multiple times for issues. Vortex is an optics rental company disguised as an optics sales company.

EDIT: they looked ok at first, but all lost collimation in 1-3 years bouncing around in a glove compartment and light use.

I disagree...I think they are great truck binos. I have had a set in my glovebox for 5 years.

I love mine. Definitely get what you pay for but they're worth it imo.

OP here...
I am fully aware they are considered sup-par, especially 'round these parts. But I am just wondering if/what would be better for 150$.

Not sure if they still have them but Cabelas had the old model Vortex for 299.99. Between active junky and club member deals you could get them for just over 200.

They are great truck binos, starter binos, travel binos, whatever you want to call them. They are competitive with basically everything else in their price range. This is a good deal.
