10/22 scope, I’ve got it down to three… which? Vortex, hawke and Athlon

Hey guys. I’ve got a 10/22 carbine I’m looking to put a scope on. Shooting inside 150yd, probably realistically 100 and in, 30-60 mostly. Mostly squirrel, chipmunk and target (not precision type target).

-Athlon 4-12x40 BDC rimfire (the 3-9 had no AO adjustment, so I chose this because of AO)

-Hawke Vantage IR 4-12x40 AO

- Vortex Crossfire II (same as Athlon, no AO on 3-9)

No experience with any of those. This is what I put in mine and love it.

I put the Crossfire II on my Ruger American Rimfire. It is doing what it is supposed to do but I wish it had AO. I use a lot of Athlon scopes and would go that route or the Burris suggested above.

So if the vortex had AO (meaning the scope was equal to the Athlon feature wise) is the glass better on the vortex or Athlon?

I have the Vortex on an AR15. It's fine up to around 6x, but the eyebox is unforgiving past that. I've had it on a couple different rifles and used it on deer up to 250 yards. For the price, I can't complain, but I won't buy another one.

I got a 2-7 vortex crossfire and it blows. I’d say skip that one.

I put a tract 22 scope on one of my guns and it’s been surprisingly good for a few years now.

Spend a little more and get Vortex Diamondback Rimfire. Vastly superior to the Crossfire in my experience.

I feel the glass is better in the Athlons at same price points. I have nevr used or looked though a Razor but have used Vortex Venom, Crossfire II, Diamondback, Viper and Strike Eagle. On the Athlon side, Cronus, Ares, Helos and Midas.
