That’s an interesting way to do it. I have been shooting 3 round groups at various powder charges looking for a node. If I have a load that shows promise I then move to a 10 shot group. I used to load atleast 5 rounds at each charge weight but I figured if 3 rounds don’t group to my liking... -

Well I loaded up a few rounds last night and tried them out today. 73gr eldm some cheap leftover brass that I had from a different project and some Varget and a COAL of 2.260 only 3 round groups so far but 24gr looks promising so I will load up 10 or 20 more and see if it’s repeatable and run... -

Sorry I know this is an old thread but would the 20-30% loss in penetration be a deal breaker on large white tail and mule deer. I know the 77 is ideal but I can’t find any 77’s or gold dots or 73 eldm’s. I’m picking up a 8 twist tikka varmint this week and I’m looking for a bullet for targets... -

Thanks for the info. I’m hoping I can find a couple bullets that I can actually get my hands on that people have been having good results with on game performance. 95% of my shooting with this rifle will be on steel and coyotes but I don’t want to have to switch loads when I do decide to go... -

sorry if it has been asked a bunch but so far I am only 80 some pages deep on this so it might take awhile to get right through. 6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game
If I hit bone with them I had great results but on clean broadsides shots with only rib bones hit damage was minimal. I shot 1 mule doe at around 150 yards broadside with the 100gr tsx in a 257 weatherby. She showed zero signs of even being hit and then she ran about 75 yards and fell over dead... -

I thought I might add that I have tried the Barnes ttsx in 300 win mag 257 weatherby .243 and the tsx in the 257 also. In my experience if you can keep the velocity high the Barnes bullets kill just fine with a well placed shot and I am a fan of them when I’m hunting for meat but if I’m looking... -

This was quite a few years ago but this is a mule deer I shot with a .243 and 80gr Barnes ttsx bullets. Shot was around 200 yards broadside. One picture is the exit wound. Deer went about 30 yards and fell over dead. It’s a bigger bodied deer than it looks in the pictures. I didn’t have any... -

New caliber debate
I really like the sounds of a 22 creed the thing making me think .223 over the creed is the almost double barrel life. I am also in Canada and finding cheap barrels isn’t as easy here
