I've taken as many deer with my WInchester 94 in 30-30 as any other gun I own. I also have a Rossi R92 in .357 that I have suppressed. Planning on hunting raccoons and maybe some short range deer with it (like out of an archery stand).
I've always thought thermal was cool but could never afford it, but I ran across the Mileseey products and got very interested. Thermals have very much come down in price in the last few years. These seem to be the Chinese brand that actually has somewhat of a good reputation but there's only...
I'm going down this path with my Tikka right now so I'll share my thought process. I have a 22" barrel with a suppressor hanging off the end, so it's quite long. It's going to depend on your use case. Your general range that you are taking shots and your ammo of choice are going to tell you...
Super common for brass coming out of semi-autos like AR15's. It's just the brass hitting the inside of the receiver after it clears the chamber but before it clears the ejection port and will come out when you run it through the resizing die unless it's really bad.
I'm running a 10x SWFA as well, it's really not bad at close range. Most of the stands I hunt are <150yards and I dropped a buck at ~100 a few weeks ago. An adjustable would be nice just for sighting and tracking, but it's a good magnification for me at that range.
I'm a stand hunter in SC. Most of the stands on my hunting club are making use of existing clearing, atv trails, and utilities right-of-ways so we have to make use of the shooting lanes we have. We have a few stands where I'm getting completely washed out either right after or before...
I cut up an old leather welding sleeve and pulled the core out of some paracord. Wrap the leather around it and tie it on. Been running that way for a few years now. Doesn't look out of place in the tree stand and cost me nothing.
I'm shooting 140gr soft tip GameKings out of my 7mm-08 and am very happy with them. Took a ~152lb whitetail a couple of weeks ago. Quartered away, no exit but by the angle it probably hit the inside of his opposite shoulder. He dropped like a sack of potatoes at 100 yards which going off my...
New guy from SC here. Mostly deer hunting but trying to figure out turkey this year. Have a Tikka T3 in 7mm-08 as my primary that I'm trying to build up (desperately need a better stock), and I'm working on my wife's Rem 700 in .223 (Just got a new barrel, needs everything else).
Got sucked...
