I just wanted to see what peoples experiences have been with the SBE3. I have 2 of them. One in 12 gauge and one in twenty. The 20 gauge has been flawless. Never jammed. No issues. Shoots to 70/30 pattern. The 12 gauge had to go back to Benelli twice for cycling issues right out of the box but now seems to be ok. I had an a400 extreme which functionally was awesome but I just didn't like how it swung on birds.

My son has one and he really likes it. No problems so far and it shoots great with no jamming issues.

I’ve had a couple feed issues with mine, however, I’ve chalked it up to not getting a good shoulder mount while wearing my thick duck jacket. It needs a good backstop to cycle properly.

Not saying that’s what your problem is, but might be a consideration. Other than those instances the gun has been awesome, swings great and knocks them down when I do my part.

My gun had to have part of the barrel extension machined to remove excess material on the 12 gage. The extractor was not getting a good enough purchase on the lip of the hull. It would cycle your typical trap loads fine, but the heavy duck loads would stove pipe. The second time back to the factory they figured this out. Since it's been back it's been flawless. And I agree the swing on this gun is awesome!

I took the 20 gage pheasant hunting yesterday and man that is such a nice field gun. I probably like the 20 gage even more than my 12.

I have a 28ga, love it. No issues. Before season I patterned it and man was I shocked at what I discovered.

My SBE2 I usually choke IC

My SBE3 28ga I did the same, IC choke and just let er rip. Wasn't pleased with its efficiency last season. So this past off-season I patterned it after reading about the 90-10 or 80-20 factory setting. Played with the shims and got it down to a 70-30 or 60-40 which is what I prefer.

I also was shocked at how wide a pattern I was shooting at 20 yds, so I switched to a Mod choke.

Man, what a difference! MUCH better and I'm knocking around birds like I've been doing with my 12ga SBE2.

I shoot that SBE2 so well it's like another extension of my arm. So I'm much happier after tinkering with the shims and switching chokes.

It's hard to pick either gun right now for hunting. Love my Benelli shotguns.

I was worried about the ol patterning high thing. My 12 is about 60/40 shot off a bench and my 20 is about 70/30 but I seem to hit quite well with both guns.
