Hey guys, I'm looking for a new pair of boots 800-1000g insulation. I've always had cheaper hunting boots, $75 or less and looking for something a little better. What do you guys prefer? I would like a standard 8" lace up waterproof style boot, minimum 800 grams of insulation. Thanks!
Thanks for all of the replies. I've been looking at the new 400 Legend that just came out, ballistic data is slightly better than a 30-30. Definitely something to consider, not sure what other manufacturers are building rifles in 400L yet besides Winchester.
I bet he does ask for sprinkles on his ice cream, but I see him as more of a pudding guy. "Where's my pudding," as he stumbles around trying to find the bathroom. I bet he's gotten lost more than once in the white house. SS agents on the radio, "Has anyone seen the eagle lately? Last I heard...
You must use a bow box and ship through UPS or Fedex. Most archery shops will give you bow boxes for free if you ask. USPS has a surcharge now for anything over 30" so don't ship a bow through the postal service. It helps to create an account with ups and print own shipping labels. You can...
I've been a mechanic and off-roader my entire life. Take a hard look at the Yokohama Geolander AT's. Your tire size should be 225 65 17. These tires are rated with the 3 peak mountain snowflake symbol meaning they are severe snow rated. I've used this tires personally for many years and they...
The only thing I'll add to this is I'm a gun guy like everyone else. I don't own an AR style rifle, not sure if I ever will. Are they cool looking and fun to shoot, of course. I started hunting in the 90's and nobody around had anything like that. It was just bolt actions, pumps and some semi...
I'm working on a 200 yard load for my CVA, so I would say around 200 yards max, but most shots being closer. Budget probably under 1K for just the gun.
Ok, I'm thinking 350 legend due to ammo availability and cost. You can find 350 legend ammo pretty much anywhere right now, even Walmart usually has a few boxes.
Hey guys, I'll most likely be moving to Ohio later this year from PA. If you were moving to a straight wall cartridge state, would you buy a straight wall caliber, use a 12 gauge slug gun (rifled or sabot slugs) or an inline muzzleloader?
Ohio's rifle season is only 1 week long and my...
That's good information. I was thinking 22" for the accu-choke barrel. I already have a Carlson's turkey choke for that barrel. Possibly 18.5-20" for the cyl bore barrel for "home defense". That barrel my son can do on the lathe at his work.
I was just going to order a new barrel from mossberg, but everything is backordered with no ETA. I figured it would be $100-$150 to do the machining, but I'm seeing prices all over the place. My son is a machinist but not a gunsmith. He could cut, face and chamfer the barrels but won't be able...
Hey guys, any recommendations for shotgun barrel work? I have a Mossberg 500 that I want to modify. I need a barrel shortened and rethreaded for accu-chokes. I have another cyl bore barrel that I want shortened and a new sight installed. Thanks!
