F your rant. I drew a once in a lifetime tag. There's no secrets on the units I enter for, they are among the most famous units accross the west. Type in my unit and look at what pops up. The odds on my tag were between 1 and 2%. If you are putting I'm for the same tags as me and pitching about...
LOL...I hope I can be living proof that the system works...some times. This is only the 2nd year I have applied for NM Elk. I hope posting my unit does not drop the draw odds to below 1%!...
Thanks man! I am pumped. It has turned my season on its head. Burned points on a pronghorn archery tag that I will now be returning because...time...
I was planning to stay home and hunt local and prioritize some friends hunts...all of a sudden mine is the priority. The area is absolutely...
Man this kind of sucks! I never expected to Draw one of these tags for another 20 years and now I cant load the book. Anyone have a hard copy or saved on their computer to tell me what unit I drew?
I dunno which unit I drew yet but I drew an early season archery elk tag. I did not put in for a unit with more than 2% odds of drawing. Should be a bit different than Colorado elk.
I don't think the title is misleading at all. These gentlemen went into great detail to describe why a lower buck to doe ratio can influence herd productivity, and that it is one of the only variables that we can control. Please understand that these guys are collecting thousands of data points...
This is true...I was told that here in Colorado by a agency biologist that most most tag allotments factor in 25% wound loss...makes sense to me...too many people taking pot shots and don't even go to look for blood. Means less tags for all of us...
The first thing I would worry about is water in Arizona. It is dryer than far west Texas...a river in the middle of a unit is pretty irrelevant...and a river in AZ could definitely be ephemeral. You can die of thirst any time of year.
What a great episode. There was some very interesting data he threw out. We are all unwitting participants in these experiments.....well maybe not the L/E on Ted Turner's ranch....
It is incredible what is available to biologists and game agencies today compared to the past. The technology to...
Any luck finding an outfitter? I am booked for a mulie rut hunt on a MLD place in January in the T-P. I have high hopes but also am praying for a good monsoon this year!
I have never been with them before but I can PM you the info if you are interested just let me know. I would be curious on...
