    I dunno which unit I drew yet but I drew an early season archery elk tag. I did not put in for a unit with more than 2% odds of drawing. Should be a bit different than Colorado elk.

These gentlemen went into great detail to describe why a lower buck to doe ratio can influence herd productivity, and that it is one of the only variables that we can control.     The first thing I would worry about is water in Arizona. It is dryer than far west Texas...a river in the middle of a unit is pretty irrelevant...and a river in AZ could definitely be ephemeral. You can die of thirst any time of year.
