RMNP just there for a day, hit the Trail Ridge Drive. It is worth it. You will see some critters, but they won't have the bone they do in September. Watch out for idiots stopped on the road; don't be one. Be prepared for any type of weather!
Dinosaur Monument; not much to do on the CO side...
Hunters in general are our own worst enemy but that is driven more by external optics and social media, not internal infighting IMO. Things on the edge ethically may have happened decades ago, but they were rarely if ever filmed and did not go "viral."
We are a small, passionate, minority...
That dude is a poacher. F*** Him
and yeah the influencer crowd has been devastating to the quality of outdoor recreation overall. The primary beneficiaries are the gear companies and the prostitutes like the one you posted.
I am pretty certain that the TPWD could care less if youn killed something. They would prefer no one enjoyed that land at all so they could sell it to a private buyer, if one existed.
Fun fact I used to work at a far west state park property where we did some hunts. An old timer I worked with...
A buddy of mine killed a decent 4x4 over there last year after waiting for like 20 years to draw. Not huge or anything, just surprised me. I couldn't find a picture. I think he kinda got lucky, which I think on a basically 3 day hunt kinda has to happen. I'd hike ridges and glass into shady spots.
Youtube for precise instructions, yes there are carb adjustment(s) on the bar side. Also some stihls have a little air blocker to put in during winter to run richer I believe.
I saw in my news feed Denver post ran an article saying wolf reintroduction has cost 2x what initially predicted. The timing does not seem coincidental. Hopefully people vote with their brains and don't give in to knee jerk emotional appeals targeting the ignorant.
I have been interested in the Burris Scout 2x7 to mount on my AR in 6.8 in place of a leupold 3x9 I have on there. Anyone used this scope? I don't think I would be mounting it as far forward as a true scout scope, but like the idea of the greater eye relief for hunting hogs.
Does anyone know if there is any polling data out there on ballot measures? I got a call from a pollster a couple of weeks ago and 127 was one they asked about.
Hey Brian I see different sizes listed for the approach online...SG has it listed as 2800 on their website, but I also see 1800 Approach listed on other sites such as Black Ovis. Can you verify what the size on the bag actually is? I am not sure if maybe they changed this bag at some point or...
Yeah I wonder when the last time one of the pro 127 groups was out removing old fence or when they last funded a habitat project...
These groups actually do nothing but litigate and gum up the works of policy such as the ESA that would actually work really well if the managers actually could...
There was some shrubs around but we were a little higher up than the oak brush. He cruised through a little opening at the bottom of a drainage on the edge of timber/aspen where it transitioned to sage. Funny thing is we had been right where that bear crossed earlier, and chased some elk that...
I have seen a pretty big boar in 4th Rifle at about 8500 feet with a lot of snow on the ground. I was helping a friend on his first hunt ever trying to fill a cow tag and we did not have a bear tag. That is the only time I recall seeing one in a concurrent rifle season but it definitely can happen.
They absolutely do not build solar farms only in high traffic areas. They build them near transmission lines, and transmission lines either have been built or are planned where it can be permitted and constructed from point A to point B the cheapest. Sometimes this means lines follow highways or...
