Dunno if my zones are accurate, never tested. I wear a garmin watch and use that for my HR (prob not 100% accurate). My max effort HR is about 180, avg resting 53, and I was holding about 120 today trying not to let it creep up. I was also trying to make sure I could breathe through my nose. An...
I’ve read through this thread a few times and breezed through the links, but don’t know that I’m hitting the ME focus. Im at sea level with zero hills, so I have been using weighted lunges, step ups, and sled push. Im stringy with a good aerobic base, but my HR is jumping right to Z3-4 at...
both have same fill power, neutrino has 0.4 more oz of down than alpine parka. Neutrino’s hood is big enough for helmet, I dont think alpine is helmet compatible. Alpine is ~4oz lighter. Alpine from Japan has left side zipper pull.
I bought alpine from japan website. I have worn it glassing...
I would not replace either rifle with a 7 mm rem mag. Your 30-06 and 308 both can get more than sufficient terminal wounding out to your desired range. All else being equal, you’ll be most lethal with the lowest recoiling cartridge among those three.
Path of least resistance: sell everything...
I saw this once, except the deer was much smaller than 80 lbs and only had 3 legs. The shot was was a center punch which helped jump start the gutting process.
devastating: yes
Bigger wound than pictures on .223 thread: nope
Edit: the .338 bullet was a “deep penetrating dangerous game bullet”...
A buddy needed his spray this morning while fishing to deter a smallish brown bear which wandered up on them…buuuuut he had just lost it in the river wrestling a couple fish. The bear wasn’t too big and just seemed interested in the fish, so deterrent would have been good because they got pushed...
For big bear defense, what’s the advantage of using buffalo bore/underwood hardcast vs something like federal HST or hornady critical duty? The latter two options seem to penetrate over 12” through barriers, which seems to be acceptable for North American animal terminal wounding (based on...
Procedure last friday…there was more blood shaving the night before than during the snip. Local anesthetic needles hurt pretty good, medicine burned. Second round of needles to numb the skin hurt slightly less. Rest of the procedure was mostly painless with some uncomfortable tugging. Told doc...
do you think someone could go skydiving 5 days after the procedure? Supposed to jump into some cold water, so maybe helps keep everything nice and chilly down there…asking for a friend.
P365 XMACRO…and it’s what I use for all now
Hardcast for woods, federal HST otherwise. For 15 years, I used a kimber 1911 .45 for EDC that I could shoot well. I live, work, and play in brown bear habitat, had a .44 mag for a decade, then got a glock 20 I was really comfortable with.
I put more...

I have the FF Lark YF 10 deg bag, its great. Compared to the SG, they both have the same pertex shell (different names). The lark uses 900 fill down that’s not hydrophobically treated (jury is out how effective treatment is vs untreated). The reg lark is 6” shorter than SG, which is cut like an...
