243 bullet choice
I load 85gr TSX for my dad in his 243... it's been his favorite load since I developed it. I run 85gr Sierra in mine. That's the load my pap developed and killed truck loads of deer with it. No reason to change it.- CBB

Personally I believe setting 25% aside for 0 point holders is bull shit. Why did I waste time and $ buying a point last summer to have 25% of the quota given to people with no points. I could see setting 500 tags aside for people who have never hunted big game in MT. The first timers. The rest... -

Non-resident elk hunters breaking point.

Well I just realized odds are 34% or maybe less. I have 1 point for MT. Rep at FWP told me the non res big game combo odds have been going down since 2018 and last year were 34%. Fuel prices and Inflation may change that but I doubt by much. Guess if it's meant to be it will happen! -

Gas Prices & DIY NR Hunters
As of now I have a vehicle reserved as a rental. 590$ for 10 days. Prices are up now. Watching flights Into Missoula and they are creeping up. I may lock in on one of the flights that offers free cancelation now to lock in the price. As for gas. 6$ a gallon is too much. I'd rather fly out... -

How’s your fuel prices
4.45 for unleaded here in NW PA, diesel is over 5$. My boy has an 04 ram with a hemi in it. He's 18 and still in high school working part time. Hes not liking these gas prices. Thinking about downgrading to a smaller pickup or car.- CBB
