    First 3D shoot in… 20 years

I just got back. Had a lot of fun and lost a couple of arrows. Got kill shots when I started ranging the targets for myself. I mentioned the lack of flag accuracy to the organizers. They commented that they knew it was off (quite a bit in some cases) and were going to fix it.

What other addiction(s) do you have?

She doesn’t ride pillion. I don’t understand why anyone would want to. To each her own.👍 For those that think girls can’t ride big bikes… The bike we are looking at for her is the first one this gal picks up in the video. For those not in the know, that R1250GS she is riding isn’t just good...

I propose the “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors Act”

States (Western states, where I presume you are mostly talking about) already allocate a pretty big percentage of tags to NR’s. I don’t understand what the concern is. Some hunts aren’t even available to NR’s is the east.

    Clean Energy Arsenal

I bet most of us agree that it would be a good thing for the United States to achieve energy independence. We just disagree on the best way to get there. I also bet that most of us agree that we want clean air and water. We want healthy forests and wild lands to escape from our hectic modern...

But only if it won’t hurt the bottom line. I agree. That was the point I was making about hydrogen production. If they could make money at it they’d probably do it. BP did some fiddling with renewables. I’m not sure if it was a serious effort or a publicity stunt after the shit show in the gulf.

Agreed. There are better ways and places for these types of projects. When money is the only consideration it can do more harm than good. Doesn’t matter if it’s a well pad or a solar farm.

See what I did there? Is that what you said? 😉 It isn’t. I’d like to read the full speech instead of an article about it. Maybe he said/meant exactly what the article claims. I’d like to decide that for myself.

I edited my post before you replied. If you are interested there is more to it. Yes, plastics and other products are made of petroleum. We can recycle plastics. That’s not a new technology. BP has and is doing some work on renewable energy. I couldn’t say if Exxon is. What point are you making?

How about you post the entire speech so it can be read in full context?

Alternative and replacement can be used synonymously. What do you mean by “the three”? If your primary concern is where our tax dollars are going you should be really mad that the petroleum companies take way more tax welfare than any renewable (or whatever you want to call it… let’s try to not...

It’s water. That and what Carter said in the 1970’s don’t change the facts. You and I may not be around to feel the worst of what we are doing but my kids will. I really wish you were right about this but you aren’t. We are starting to feel the impacts in a very real way.

    Clean Energy Arsenal

That might be true to some extent but you would need to make it more efficient than it is just putting the electricity into the grid for it to be profitable. It has to be profitable to be economically viable. In our system things don’t get done if they don’t make money for someone. If it was...

    Clean Energy Arsenal

You didn’t state the two arguments. I understand the basics of how hydrogen can be produced. However electrolysis is only about 75% efficient. For it to be viable it would need to be more efficient. Unless we really ramp up our renewable energy production. Then we could accept the inherent...

I propose the “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors Act”

BTW, we already have “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors” Ohio can decide to only issue tags to residents of Ohio should they choose. All states have the same right to manage their game. Not all states have the same habitat so you get what you get where you choose to live. As @mossyoak52...

I propose the “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors Act”

I see your point. I’m just saying that the federal lands do belong to all of us.

I propose the “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors Act”

I do agree with you on the NR wilderness hunting rules in WY. It is welfare for outfitters. Not much different than the outfitter by species requirements in AK. It benefits me as a resident but I wouldn’t be all that bothered if it was changed. Other than that, where does it say anything about...

I propose the “Fair opportunity in America’s Outdoors Act”

Mostly agree. Though everyone from every state does have the right to recreate on federal land in every other allowable way. The land belongs to everyone regardless of residency. The animals belong to the state, just as they should. I really don’t understand why these guys are so up in arms. No...

Is my uncle out of his mind?

I think he’s asking too much. I know you don’t want to haggle or make it weird so I’d just tell him you really want something that has available parts. If I had a nephew looking for a bow and an extra bow I’d just give it to him. I’ve spoiled my nephews with guns and nice fly rods though.

Best State for Resident Hunting Opportunties

I really enjoyed the weather in AK. Of course I didn’t have to cope with the deep cold of Fairbanks, the insane amount of rain in SE, or the ridiculous snowfall of Valdez. The Kenai Peninsula was never all that hot or cold. It did rain more than I was accustomed to, but it didn’t bother me. I’d...

How are you fighting the ticks so far

I ran like hell to a place with very few ticks. I absolutely hate ticks and those buggers were nasty in OK. That lone star tick disease freaked me out more than anything else down there. Suddenly allergic to red meat? Nononononono!!!
