I have a Rem 700 that craters every primer no matter what load. I don't see flat primers or ejector marks. Looks like it may just be the combination of soft/thin primers and over sized firing pin hole.
For what your describing I would use either 140gr or the new 150gr Nosler Accubond. I have been using 130gr Accubonds out of a 270Win for years on whitetails and get small entry and quarter size exit wounds with easy to follow blood trails on the few that have run a short distance.

Every time I about have myself talked in to a CA Mesa in 300 Win I start looking around online and find enough recent stories like this to scare me away from them. It just doesn't seem like CA can get their act together with customer service issues.
