Anyone flown rifles into the US to hunt before?

A bit of a backwards one but any of the Canadian or foreign members on here taken rifles into the states to hunt? Im a US citizen but live in NZ. Have a rifle I have left in Montana but its a bit of a hassle to always have to travel to Montana first and not being able to bring my main rifle...

Exit side punched the shoulder blade dead centre before it exited. Not extremely dramatic damage but death was quick was tumbling uncontrollably within seconds. Then rolled for about 20 seconds didn't get up so died within that time frame. A Nannie Tahr is a realitively light/soft animal so...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Here a data point for the 75 eld m launched at 2850 from a Tikka 223. Nannie Tahr at 275 yards was quartering away hard. Only exposing top half of chest area. Nasty shooting position definitely handy to be shooting the 223. 1 shot and fell about 300 feet until caught in some brush...

Mesa Precision Arms Actions - Any Experience

Be interesting to see if the creed feeds alright from the long action. Even with heavies a creed easily fits in a short action

    22 Creedmoor twist rate

Load data wont change based on twist all it means is you will be shooting stuff in the sub 60 grain weight range. Probably the 53 v max as a good idea to start. May just get a 60TMK stable. You would be pretty safe to start with the upper end of hornadys data for the 62 ELD VT in the following...

    Rokstock reviews

My view based on looking at the physics and interaction points is yes, you cant beat physics and is my argument that mounting scopes higher isn't necessarily a bad thing as if your eye position is fixed then the higher rings leads to the axis of the bore being lowered and the rifle butt sitting...

    22 Creedmoor twist rate

For reference a friend here runs 88s at 3350 in a long barrel 22-250ai from a 1 in 7 here in NZ and he hasnt popped one in around 900 rounds. Sometimes you can push them and get away with it. Id be pretty comfortable at 3000fps which would be a lovely result for your short barrel even smidge...

Favorite 6.5 PRC bullet for elk?

That's a vague statement there's about 10 6.5 "eld" projectiles that could be loaded in the 6.5 PRC and atleast 2 that come in factory offerings.

    22 Creedmoor twist rate

Should easily be able to hit 3000fps with that combo which is 308k rpm so I'd not say you are guaranteed safe but likely safe depending on rifling type, bore diameter, etc. Some are fine at 350krpm and some with tight bores, rough throats, certain rifling types have issues under 300krpm (which...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

It's all mags have 1 unmodified plastic mag, 1 unmodified metal mag, and 1 modified metal mag. I had during issues with all three where the spring was actually too strong and would 'launch the rear of the cartridge up when it came out of the feedlots causing the nose to dip and miss the chamber...
