I have a handheld Lee that I like, but I'm wearing it out. I also have a Lee bench prime that I use a lot. Neither of them are built for thousands of rounds of priming. This is one area where stuff should made of steel and held to close tolerances.
BTW, $185 is ridiculous.
I'm going to pour a little more on this thread :)
What does shooting 10 shot groups prove? And what does that have to do with hunting, or practical accuracy for that matter?
If a fellow hits what he intends with his shot, isn't that the definition of "good shot"? How does it matter whether...
When you learn to shoot, recoil becomes a very minor part of making the shot. If you don't shoot enough to have "learned to shoot", then anticipation of recoil can mess up your shot.
So learn to shoot.
Look, I shoot my Marlin Guide Gun (48lbs/ft free recoil) as accurately as I do my AR15 - I'm...
IMO, many new hunters are bedazzled by photos of bloodshot goo. The so-called "evidence" is simply the aftermath of making a hole in an animal while the heart continues to pump.
Experienced hunters are not mesmerized by phases like "turned to mush" because they know it is (a) mostly congealed...
When it is cold, and you need your light to last - you want lithiums. But not all lights work with lithiums (Petzel). So check.
I still use a BD spot but I also use a Coast. My all time favorite for night hiking was a 2 (AAA) streamlight with an updated LED - it was so nice and light (and run...
I guess you didn't read through the thread. Folks did exactly that.
I remember Joe at Realguns testing Harrels against other dispensers 20 years ago. Conclusion: no difference overall.
Buy what you want.
I love how guys will tell you their favorite dispenser drops to within .01 grain! (0ne hundreth of a grain).
All drum type dispensers will give you +/- .1 grain with their favorite powder ( usually a ball powder). None will drop long stick that consistently.
Unless you're an F class...
Put together some 223 - 21gr of LT-30 pushing an Everglades 55gr SP, Fiochi primers, range brass. I'll run it over the chronograph when the weather cooperates, but I'm looking for a 2900fps plinking load. Might only be 2800fps in the cold.
It is wrong to value a game animal as "a lost tag opportunity" - doesn't make sense at all. The state doesn't have an investment in the animal, the state isn't guaranteed a sale on the animal. Honestly, some of you need to think this through a bit better - that bear isn't an Angus steer.
The...
Put bear meat in Instant pot. Add 2 cups of chicken broth. 1 packet of ranch dressing mix, 1 packet of au jus. Add peeled potatoes and whole carrots.
Set Instant Pot for 2.5 hr pressure cook. After which you can be sure that all the trichinosis eggs, ocysts, larva and adults are dead and...
The Lee Perfect is the best entry-level powder dispenser. Works great with flake and stick powders, but will leak with some ball powders like H335. ~$30.
For about $70 is the Lee SomethingWonderful (forgot the name even though I'm using one). Has a clever direct bottle feature, repeatably...
I like 180gr at 2700-2900fps from a 24" barrel. I don't see the need to buy $1/shot bullets to kill Deer and Elk. Hornady Interlocks, Speer Hot Core, etc. kill just fine to as far as you can shoot.
