    Fjallraven vs born primitive pants

That's my biggest gripe with them, both my Vidda and Keb feel that way. Literally the only complaint I have bout either pant after a couple years of daily wear. I am tempted to sacrifice myself to the wrath of the WKR gang and try out the Forloh BTM's and see if they fit better...

    Filson clothing and gear.

Good tip! What temp and time do you find work best for this? I am dreading hand waxing my double bibs this winter.

    Filson clothing and gear.

Grew up near Filson HQ in a logging, farming, and hunting family. “The” traditional target audience of Filson. Their older stuff is money and certainly targeted towards anyone doing anything in the PNW Forests. My Grandfathers held Filson in high regard, one being a career logger and the other...

Wool Grid "Fleece" or Wool R1 Air style hoody?

I have an Ambient that I like a lot, but prefer natural fibers, or natural fiber dominant blends, where possible. Also find it a bit hot to hike in.

How do you like it? Does it get much use?

Cat carcass - what would do this?

I've seen Raptors and Crows do this to various small mammals around our property over the years.

    Investment fund for the grandkids???

Yep, just set up a fund for our first when she was born a couple years back. 529 seemed far and away the best option, especially if you live in a tax advantaged state.

Boots: light and fast or heavy and bomb proof?

The timberlines (more flexible version of the Beartooth basically) are about the stiffest boot I can tolerate, and only with a cushy insole. Vivo ESC's have ruined all other boots for me, light and fast all the way.

Wool Grid "Fleece" or Wool R1 Air style hoody?

How does it hold up against a pack belt and straps? Presumably you’re not brush busting in it, but can it survive a regular season of friction?

    Merino wool

Thank you, much appreciated! I’m on the fence about picking one up as my one and only mid layer. I’m too hot (on the move) to wear anything more than a t-shirt until the temps hit the 30’s, might be perfect or might be too heavy…

Hunting mature thick timber Muleys in Eastern WA, Northern ID, and NW Montana

You guys are trying too hard, there's like 6 of us left in Washington that care enough to chase almost exclusively* big Muley bucks, and we are rarely overlapping in any one season. Best book to learn Mule Deer (IMO)...

2024 OFFICIAL Mule deer meat pole thread

I somewhat regret not throwing lead seeing as it's an any-buck whitetail unit and the local biologists want them out (apparently), but I decided to be ethical and let him walk. Absolute dandy 10 point, especially never having shot one in our home state, literally "the one" you'd want on the wall.

2024 OFFICIAL Mule deer meat pole thread

2nd tough year (for our camp) in a row in WA. Spent most of season exploring new country, only to find another hardcore fella chasing the same buck we were after that he had patterned all summer. Thanks to OnX my honey-hole is no longer, oh well! Easy 190" muley, 28-30" wide, he made it through...

Wool Grid "Fleece" or Wool R1 Air style hoody?

Anyone familiar with any lightweight wool options that are gridded similar to common fleece offerings, or similar to R1 Air? I've seen the Icebreaker Descender and Ortovox's offerings, the Icebreaker looks like it might be too heavy and hot for me, Ortovox is synthetic dominant blends which...

    Washington High Buck

I pre-bought one of the "premium B&C" tickets. According to the description, if I question a 80" buck at all, I get kicked out immediately. Seemed like a great deal!
