If only going to own one set of binos and spotter… I’d go with either 12x50 els or 12x42 nls. Save up for a 66 or 77 spotter and that can cover everything pretty well.
I’ve had 4 different pairs of NLs and currently own 2. I would defineitly say that the main focus is what I would consider on the the looser side, although there isn’t any noticeable backlash. It’s the one thing so far I don’t like about them.
Kinda went down the same road myself recently…
I think if you were to only have one do it all bino for out west the 12x42nls or 12x50els are the best compromise of magnification/fov, size/weight, and usefulness on a tripod. That said, I went with 14x52s and 10x42s nls and think for my uses...
Hit: Swaro nl pure (finally separating ranger finder and binos)
Miss: the three pairs of rangefinding binos trying to get the right balance of optical quality/rangefinding ability/and price for what your getting. IMO the big three LRF binos cost more then they’re worth in one category or...
I have a brand new pair of Swarovski 12x42 (received last Friday 10/4) that I’m looking to sell. This this the newer model with no retro fitting needed for the swaro bino stud. Looking to get $2700 out of these which is a decent discount from new+taxes. I’m going to give local pick up...
Just wondering for those that have had time with the 14s… how is the handholding working out ?? These are very appealing to me if they could be my one bino in big country, not really that interested in carrying a second separate bino for tripod use only
Do you know if those previous 6ks were the “HD” ? I’m having a hard time sorting through all the various models sig has come out with and currently have the 6k HD. I’m also wondering how much of an improvement the HDXs wil be
Hi…
I’m rearranging my optics set up a bit and am curious about the Meopta 12x50s. Was wondering if there was anybody in the Boise area that had a pair I could have a look at as there doesn’t seem to be anyone that has them nearby. Mostly trying to get a handle on overall size and how well the...
Thanks for the response ! It seems the general consensus is Meoptas are the main contender in this category and have been for the last handful of years, although it seems as if Maven is gaining a bit lately so that’s why I ask.
This is a couple years old now… I’m in the market for some higher mag binos, and was wondering if you still feel the same way on these ?
Any chance to compare these to the Maven b5s ?
Whats your preference between 15x vs 18x if you could only have one (10x in the harness) ?
Thanks
My SG X curve frame (already has shelf) with lid is 3lb 6oz, Krux frame would be at 3lb even. Already hydration compatible, a dry bag on the shelf for a couple oz if need be.
