I do not have personal experience with either of these but for that budget and range I’d look for some used Maven 18x56s b.5 or new or maybe new c4? Vortex makes a mid range 18x as well.
I like a 140, block ice on bottom, bone in quarters in game bags, hide on top. You could probably go smaller but it’s a good fit for it all. These are Montana bears, 180-250lbs
I’m with the family in Flagstaff for the week. I’m fairly familiar with the area, done the more popular hikes/sites, wondering if anyone has suggestions? Have a 6 year old and the grandparents so nothing too crazy, but 3-4 mile trails are doable, sites, restaurants, activities?
I’m not sure when the last time you checked those hunt prices but $2700 would likely just cover your travel there and back with gear/meat/hotels. Add another 10-20k for the hunt itself.
Main interest would be the lock. I like the option of backlit numbers and a fingerprint. How well it works, battery life, speed of access. How easy is it to mount to floor/wall, what did you use to do so? How easy does it go together and is it well made/tight tolerances.

I went on a bit of a tripod journey and posted it here. Weights are in there for several popular set ups, ultralite to “heavy”.

Looks nice. I'm surprised the grip isn't offered in orange. I have the 6" version and really like it but it has the orange grip. Looking at their product page, the 6" grip is now green as well with no orange option. Strange.
If you shoot it well and like it, take it. I wagged a VTM 34 (a bit heavier) hundreds of miles last year, from Alaska tundra to NV desert mountains and everywhere in between.
The Kuiu looks a lot like the Ortlieb 110 duffel to me, which is a great bag. I haven't found anything out there tougher than the yeti though. Downsides of Yeti are price, a little heavy, and the opening is a little narrow and can be annoying loading stuff in and out, but it is bullet proof. If...

When they have released something in the past, the go hunt/influencer crowd pushes it pretty hard. I was surprised when I saw this out and hadn't been bombarded by media saying it's a "game changer".
I am curious though, at that price it would need to be impressive.
