I hunted Alberta a few years ago, Sept for moose. We saw huge packs of wolves, multiple packs during multiple days, heard them every day. They were thick, tracks in every muddy spot you found. Saw at least one bear a day as well.
I’m headed out there as well and will have puffy pants. Just make sure to shed them before dropping off after something, the vegetation will shred them…. Ask me how I know 😂
I went arca rails on rifles to clip into tripod but that FHF V attachment that goes on a tripod legs works pretty well. Duct tape it on, sitting and using a pack for rear support, could consistently shoot 400 yards without issue. Got me a lot more stable than crossing trekking poles. The biggest...
Work the rims and glass down into them, change angles regularly. Plan on shooting across canyon if possible. They will want water/cover/feed all within a very small area. Cow calling can be useful to cover your own sounds if walking it a particularly loud area. You are looking for a tine here...
Ran a bear and mule deer through the 1.5 yesterday, wish I would have upgraded years ago. I couldn’t feed it fast enough and the bear was probably a little too frozen, grinder was barely warm to the touch at the end. It’s also quieter than my LEM .5hp
:ROFLMAO: Good luck on your hunt Bob. I could have lent you my 6 creed if I would have known, hope that 28 nosler has enough knock down power for elk!!
I was getting on to do just that. I thought about deleting but going to leave it up unless the mods want to delete or lock it. It’s resolved, but doesn’t leave me feeling warm and fuzzy.
Do I think they would have given me the time of day if I wouldn’t have thought to take pictures and videos...
Well just got off the phone with Nate from Eurooptic. He reached out, was super helpful, they are sending me the rifle that was advertised and refunding me the $50 transfer fee. Told me there must of been a disconnect/miscommunication somewhere with different departments, there was nothing...
I ended my call with them by saying I was going to share my experience, they didn’t seem concerned.
The kid that was helping me (Kade) was nice enough, he wasn’t making any decisions himself, just doing what he was told. I was on hold most of the time while he was going back and forth with a...
I know, preaching to the choir. I always do, I checked the caliber and matched the serial number through the plastic, just didn't think the check the end of the barrel. I think because it was going to be a back burner project gun for me I just didn't get super excited and pull it out and look...
I don't think you sound bitter at all. I think it can be a real pitfall to these tags and even just harder to obtain LE tags. You get hung up on a number and that's what the entire experience becomes about when 99.9% of people would be happy with just the hunt and a good representation of the...
I know since covid customer service is a thing of the past. I've always had good luck with a few companies, one being Eurooptic. I purchased a tikka through their sale, a 16in 308 that was threaded with adapter. I get a called from my FFL to go pick it up, it is still boxed up and in plastic but...
I was, 415 bench, 495 DL but that wasn’t a max, just never went higher. I then started mountain hunting seriously and got my butt kicked.
Dropped 40lbs, not near those numbers now but can get up a mountain real quick, so depends on what you mean by top of the mountain… 😂
